I must admit to a certain fondness for harp music, although I would admit
it only to you, my closest friends. There is a tranquillity, an ethereal
white-on-blue naturalness that comes only from this one instrument.
Victoria Schultz has taken some of the finest, and yes, safest, tunes
of the modern era and adapted them very nicely to her talented hands.
We find within this collection such jewels as "Memory" from
Cats, the theme from Romeo and Juliet, and even "Dust in the Wind."
Throughout the CD, however, we never find ourselves bogging down in schmaltz.
The renditions are living, breathing creations of musical art.
Victoria has done a fine job of capturing the essence of these tunes without
smothering them. This is a great CD for those who like this sort of thing,
and there may be more of you out there than we would admit. Harpspun Productions,

Harp Almanac
This CD moves seamlessly from popular showtunes to classical standards
in a lush romantic style that envelopes the listener in familiar music.
This musical journey is performed sensitively, moving through favorites
such as Memory from Cats, Annie's Song, and Wind Beneath My Wings. Victoria
Schultz combines pristine solo harp backed up gently with her own smooth
keyboard performance. Her background as both a pianist and harpist enables
her to perform both instruments in a manner that provides us with an excellent
duet recording. Ms. Schultz has arranged the entire recording in an elegant
style that makes the CD excellent music for a quiet dinner, or enjoying
a peaceful moment.

Harp Favorites includes
beautiful arrangements with harp and synthesizer of many pop standards
such as "Annie's Song" as well as classics such as Beethoven's
"Ode to Joy". All the selections are recognizable melodies,
tastefully arranged in a soothing, enjoyable presentation.
Harp?
You must be kidding!

I reviewed "Harp
Dreams" and am back to tell you how much I enjoyed "Harp Favorites."
As I said in my other review harp has always seemed a little upscale for
my tastes; i.e. Willie, Roy Orbison, etc. But having listened first to
"Harp Dreams" and now to "Harp Favorites" I'm here
to tell you that this is the most beautiful music that I have ever heard.
The selections are fantastic and the heart and soul that goes into the
playing is out of this world. If you ever feel that you need a little
peace in your life, then get this CD -- it will open up new worlds to
you.
